💼 About This Role

You'll design and own the data layer powering analytics, machine learning, and product features at Preply, a unicorn edtech company. You will build trusted ingestion pipelines and enrichment foundations that ensure data is production-ready and reusable across the company. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build and own Preply's data lake with clear ownership and quality expectations
• Develop scalable batch and streaming ingestion pipelines
• Define and implement data contracts with schema and quality guarantees
• Instrument pipelines with observability for freshness, latency, and cost

📋 Requirements

• Experience building high-scale data pipelines in a platform or data engineering team
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, or equivalent real-time/batch frameworks
• Proficiency with orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and modern DevOps practices

• Experience with Debezium for change data capture
• Knowledge of data governance and privacy best practices
• Experience with streaming and real-time data processing
