Description

You will manage Okta's global IP portfolio, focusing on software patent strategy and prosecution. You'll collaborate with engineering to identify inventions, handle trademark, copyright, and trade secret issues, and support M&A and litigation.

Requirements

• J.D. from accredited law school and active Bar membership.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in CS, EE, or computer engineering.
• USPTO Registered Patent Attorney.
• 5+ years IP experience including software patent prosecution.
• Experience with SaaS, cloud-based software, or relevant technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifecycle of IP assets aligning with business goals.
• Refine offensive and defensive IP strategies for competitive edge.
• Advise on IP-related business risks and legal trends.
• Partner with engineering to identify patentable inventions and develop patent literacy.
• Support IP protection including trademark, copyright, trade secrets, and licensing.
