💼 About This Role

You'll lead the technical architecture of Verkada's next-generation Spatial Platform, rebuilding floor plans from static images into a high-performance, interactive 3D engine. You'll own a core infrastructure pillar supporting 8+ product lines before the company goes public. This greenfield role lets you solve hard geospatial math and graphics challenges for a fast-growing leader in cloud physical security.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design high-performance rendering architecture for interactive viewer and editing surface
• Optimize latency with partial GPU buffer updates and custom shaders
• Develop power-user tools for spatial intelligence analysis
• Own client-side CRDT architecture for offline-first multi-user editing

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years building complex web apps or high-performance graphics engines
• JavaScript fundamentals and React expertise
• Computer Science degree or related field
• Understanding of coordinate conversions, geospatial projections, and 3D geometry

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Deck.gl, MapLibre, Three.js, or raw WebGL/WebGPU
• Experience with real-time sync architectures (Yjs, Automerge, OT)
• Familiarity with PostGIS, vector tiling (MVT), and GIS workflows
