Description
You will own PECVD equipment for manufacturing silicon heterojunction solar cells at massive scale, ensuring tool availability, stability, and scaling to support Starlink's satellite constellation and Starship missions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, materials science, or other STEM discipline
- 2+ years hands-on experience owning and maintaining CVD or PECVD equipment in high-volume semiconductor, solar, or manufacturing
- Experience handling flammable, toxic, corrosive, and/or hazardous chemicals and gases safely
Responsibilities
- Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput PECVD equipment for heterojunction silicon solar cell manufacturing
- Drive equipment reliability and uptime for high-volume production with minimal downtime
- Run experiments and analyze data to improve capacity, reduce tool variation, and enhance defect performance
- Develop preventive/predictive maintenance strategies, spare parts programs, and tool matching protocols
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions on equipment issues including vacuum, RF, gas delivery, and automation
