Description

As a Principal Electrical Engineer at Rocket Lab's Optical Systems division, you will lead a team of electrical engineers while performing hands-on design and analysis for space-based electro-optical and infrared payloads. You will support DoD and IC customers by delivering fully validated systems on time and within budget.

Requirements

• Strong technical background in electrical engineering
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Experience with space applications, digital and analog circuit design
• Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools for power, impedance, and high-frequency design
• Ability to assess work quality through engineering gate reviews and peer reviews

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of electrical engineers, setting objectives and providing feedback
• Manage functional budget and generate ROI assessments for process improvements
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship on complex electrical challenges
• Lead electrical design and analysis (digital and analog) for space applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on spacecraft and payload systems
