Description

You will build and scale the accounting function at General Matter, leading core operations, designing systems and controls, and ensuring audit readiness in a regulated environment. You'll interpret Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), own compliance frameworks, and support strategic decisions in a fast-growing nuclear fuel company.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier)
Demonstrated knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and cost accounting practices
Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks
Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit documentation

Responsibilities

Lead financial close and reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, CAS, and regulations
Own CAS compliance framework, including Disclosure Statements and cost allocation methodologies
Serve as primary liaison for external audits, maintaining audit-ready documentation
Design and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for scale and compliance
Oversee accounting systems (ERP) and drive process improvements
