πΌ About This Role
You'll lead advertising product strategy and delivery across The Economist's digital ecosystem. You'll balance commercial value with user experience and editorial integrity in a subscription-first environment. This role combines technical product ownership with a dotted line to the Global Head of Advertising.
π― What You'll Do
- Own product vision and roadmap for advertising across digital products.
- Manage and prioritize advertising product backlog, leading a product squad.
- Define how advertising fits within a subscription-led, editorial-first ecosystem.
- Lead technical ownership of the advertising stack across web, app, newsletters, and Espresso.
- Partner with Global Head of Advertising to translate commercial strategy into product capabilities.
π Requirements
- Senior product leader with experience owning complex, platform-level products.
- Deep understanding of digital advertising systems, including first-party data-driven models.
- Product-first mindset with strong judgment on balancing monetization and user experience.
- Technically confident to engage deeply with engineers on architecture and data flows.
β¨ Nice to Have
- Experience with ad servers, programmatic platforms, and sponsorship products.
- Strong understanding of first-party data strategies in premium or subscription-led environments.
- Familiarity with privacy, consent, identity, and regulatory requirements in digital advertising.
