Description

You will develop cutting-edge next-generation photonic integrated circuits for deployment in space and ground infrastructure, enabling global connectivity through the Starlink network. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, simulate, and characterize optical building blocks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
• 2+ years of photonics or electro-optical integrated circuit design
• Experience using simulation tools such as Lumerical, COMSOL, and HFSS
• Familiarity with optical and radio test equipment (spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, BERTs)

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and simulate optical building blocks (MZM, microring modulators, Ge photodiodes, dWDM filters, waveguides, couplers, dividers, polarization management) in silicon photonics and InGaAs/InP platforms
• Derive specifications for photonics IC systems and circuits; design and model package optical interface including edge and grating couplers
• Perform IC floor planning and layout; evaluate, characterize, and measure electrical and optical building blocks of high-speed optical link solutions
• Work with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification of PIC circuits and systems
• Assist in development of automated test lab equipment for lab measurements
