💼 About This Role

You'll lead research in large behavior models and diffusion policy for end-to-end automated driving at Toyota Research Institute. You'll advance generative AI to overcome traditional perception-planning bottlenecks and deploy models on vehicle platforms. This role bridges TRI research with Toyota product teams, offering direct impact on real-world driving.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Conduct ambitious research in generative AI for end-to-end driving
• Implement scalable architectures processing raw sensor data to vehicle trajectories
• Prototype and iterate models using imitation learning on large-scale data
• Perform closed-loop evaluations in simulation and real-world testing

📋 Requirements

• PhD in robotics or related field (Computer Science, etc.)
• Track record of publications at major conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, etc.)
• Experience training large-scale models including foundation models
• Proficiency in Python and C++

• Experience with robot motion planning techniques
• Experience in automated driving domains (perception, prediction, planning)
• Experience developing production-level code for real-time systems
