Description

You will conduct power system engineering studies to ensure the reliability and compliance of New York's bulk power system, supporting transmission infrastructure development and regulatory requirements for NERC, NPCC, and NYSRC.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Experience in power system reliability studies and compliance
• Knowledge of NERC, NPCC, and NYSRC standards
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, PSLF)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct power flow, short circuit, transfer limits, and dynamic stability studies for NERC, NPCC, and NYSRC compliance
• Perform reliability studies for NYISO's Reliability Planning Process
• Review and coordinate transmission planning studies by Transmission Owners under NERC standards
• Develop and maintain electric system models for geomagnetic disturbance impact evaluations
• Support interregional and public policy planning studies
