Description

As a Mechanical Designer on the Starship Tower Launch Mount team, you will bridge system architecture and build by developing electrical schematics, sizing conveyances, designing conduits and control panels, and supporting the rapid automated launch cadence of the next-generation Starship vehicles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline, or 2+ years professional experience in designing mechanical, fluids, or electrical systems
• Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g. NX/Unigraphics, Catia, SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
• Familiarity with weldments and sheet metal structures
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79 codes and experience with EPlan
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Detail electrical schematics in collaboration with automation controls engineers
• Perform conduit fill calculations and initial sizing of conveyances
• Create CAD models and drawings of conduits, control panels, bracketry, and access provisions
• Perform basic structural analysis for robust designs in launch pad environment
• Translate designs into planning for field installation and document designs and best practices
