You'll lead the design and delivery of core control-plane infrastructure for Confluent Cloud, owning highly technical projects across multiple services and teams. You'll combine deep distributed systems expertise with strong execution to shape the architecture and reliability of our cloud platform. This role offers the chance to drive open-ended technical initiatives from ambiguous problem to durable impact.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own architecture and delivery of complex control-plane systems.
• Lead open-ended technical initiatives from ambiguity to execution.
• Build resilient systems with strong observability and SLOs.
• Collaborate across orgs on designs and long-term platform direction.

📋 Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proficiency in Go, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience building control-plane systems (APIs, operators, controllers).
• Background with Apache Kafka or other streaming/data systems.
• Prior work on multi-region, high-availability, or disaster-recovery architectures.
