💼 About This Role

You'll lead the teams and systems that turn real-world flight data into learning and action at Zipline, the world's largest autonomous logistics system. Your core impact will be setting technical direction and building the data platform to scale beyond 1 million flights per day. This role is unique because it owns the end-to-end data lifecycle for a safety-critical, high-growth robotics system.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define long-term strategy and roadmap for data and ML infrastructure
• Lead development of onboard and offboard data logging systems
• Design sampling strategies for rare, novel, safety-relevant scenarios
• Build and operate reproducible training and evaluation workflows for autonomy ML

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years building large-scale data or autonomy-adjacent systems
• Experience leading senior engineers or multiple teams
• Strong background in robotics, autonomy, or logistics physical systems
• Deep understanding of data platform architecture (logging, ingestion, processing)

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience in production ML infrastructure for training and evaluation
• Experience with safety-critical, operationally constrained data environments
• Strong communication and technical judgment skills
