You'll develop materials and processes for Starship/Super Heavy components like valves and actuators. You'll improve reliability of propulsion control devices through material selection and testing. This role impacts cutting-edge aerospace hardware supporting Mars missions.

  • Design and deploy materials for propulsion and valve systems
  • Improve manufacturing reliability through material selection and testing
  • Perform root cause investigations using fractography and metallography
  • Collaborate with design, test, and production teams on material challenges

๐Ÿ“‹ Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in materials engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years professional experience in materials engineering role
  • Experience with multiple manufacturing methods: coatings, casting, forging, welding, heat treating

โœจ Nice to Have

  • Master's or PhD in materials engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of aerospace metals (nickel alloys, stainless steels, etc.)
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience
