You'll develop materials and processes for Starship/Super Heavy components like valves and actuators. You'll improve reliability of propulsion control devices through material selection and testing. This role impacts cutting-edge aerospace hardware supporting Mars missions.
๐ฏ What You'll Do
- Design and deploy materials for propulsion and valve systems
- Improve manufacturing reliability through material selection and testing
- Perform root cause investigations using fractography and metallography
- Collaborate with design, test, and production teams on material challenges
๐ Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in materials engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years professional experience in materials engineering role
- Experience with multiple manufacturing methods: coatings, casting, forging, welding, heat treating
โจ Nice to Have
- Master's or PhD in materials engineering or related field
- Knowledge of aerospace metals (nickel alloys, stainless steels, etc.)
- Hands-on manufacturing experience
