Description

As a Structural-Bridge Technical Manager, you will self-perform and direct project teams in the planning and design of transportation structures projects, act as a subject matter expert, and help drive growth of the Illinois Structural group. You will mentor staff, manage technical elements of projects, and ensure high-quality engineering documents are produced.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) required; Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural) required
• SE License in IL required
• Minimum 8 years' experience in structural engineering with a transportation focus
• IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge of software appropriate for the discipline
• Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Experience in MicroStation required
• Experience in 3D bridge modeling highly desirable
• Experience with Construction Engineering services highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Mentor and direct the advancement of technical skills of staff while executing projects
• Manage technical elements of a project, including assessing analyses and approaches
• Perform, review, and manage technical analysis and design
• Take responsibility for completeness of design details
• Communicate technical progress and issues to Project Manager
• Adhere to internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking
• Contribute to project work as a technical specialist or advisor
• Provide input into growth of the practice
• Work toward being a leading subject matter expert
