You'll build and maintain Railway's bare-metal orchestration and provisioning stack, evolving a homegrown engine to manage clusters, containers, and VMs. Your work will directly impact the platform that all Railway engineers use daily, ensuring high reliability and developer productivity. This role offers high autonomy and ownership in a well-funded startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build and maintain bare-metal provisioning stack with PXE boot and Ansible
• Evolve orchestration engine for clusters, containers, and VMs
• Optimize bin packing algorithm for utilization and cost
• Design and maintain CI pipelines for infrastructure code

📋 Requirements

• Distributed systems expertise for fault-tolerant services
• Hands-on experience with bare-metal provisioning and configuration management
• Proficiency in Golang or Rust for building GRPC services
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible for immutable infrastructure

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with PXE boot and burn-in agents
• Familiarity with observability and alerting tools
