Description

In this hands-on role, you will guide the design and architecture of critical components for Lightspeed's flagship Retail product, contributing to key systems and mentoring fellow engineers to build sustainable architecture. You'll work to improve system reliability, performance, and development practices while collaborating with teams to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years as a technical leader for multiple teams
• 2+ years managing architecture across 35+ engineers
• Experience building business-critical systems at scale on the cloud
• Experience with multiple tech stacks such as Go, PHP, Java, RoR, or Python

Responsibilities

• Ensure new systems are well designed and scalable
• Analyze existing systems to improve architecture, reduce duplication, and enhance performance and robustness
• Drive improvements in system reliability and performance
• Improve development practices from design reviews to incident management
• Conduct architectural deep-dives and mentor key members across services teams
