💼 About This Role

You'll lead the Marketplace Optimization team at Upstart, building systems that balance tradeoffs for borrowers, lenders, investors, and the company. You'll partner with Machine Learning to shape algorithms and define rules for stable, trusted outcomes. Your work will directly improve rates for customers and returns for capital partners.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Create mechanisms that clear Upstart's marketplace, improving rates and returns.
• Shape algorithms for matching participants and defining stable outcomes.
• Collaborate on vision and strategy with ML, business, and engineering teams.
• Design experiments to test ideas and define goals for marketplace sides.

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years in marketplace product management role.
• Demonstrated success leading an engineering team on pricing, monetization, or matching.
• Ability to build relationships with C-level to individual contributors.
• Skill in managing through persuasion and consensus building.
