💼 About This Role

You'll define the long-term technical strategy and architecture for Acceldata's Open Data Platform (ODP), leading complex initiatives and driving open-source contributions. Your work will influence petabyte-scale data systems used by the world's largest organizations. Collaborate with engineering leadership and executives to shape product direction while representing Acceldata in the global distributed systems community.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define long-term technical strategy and architecture for ODP.
• Lead design of complex, high-impact systems and establish architectural patterns.
• Drive open-source contributions and represent Acceldata at conferences.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence engineering best practices.

📋 Requirements

• 12+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java or Scala.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and big data platforms.
• Experience scaling systems using Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Flink at production scale.

✨ Nice to Have

• PMC member or committer in Apache projects (Spark, Kafka, etc.).
• Speaker at major conferences like ApacheCon or Spark Summit.
• Experience with lakehouse architectures or table formats (Iceberg, Delta).
