💼 About This Role

You'll lead the development of high-traffic mapping APIs and distributed ETL pipelines at Mapbox, serving billions of requests daily. Your work will enable designers, developers, and analysts to create custom maps. You'll also integrate AI into engineering workflows.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead engineering team to identify and scope tasks.
• Design systems for rapid growth of customer base.
• Mentor peers through 1:1s and code reviews.
• Promote operational excellence through testing and monitoring.

📋 Requirements

• 8-10+ years building scalable backend services.
• Proficiency in Python, Typescript, and AWS (CDK, ECS, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFront).
• Familiarity with raster and vector geospatial data.
• Ability to perform all development tasks independently.

• Experience building global imagery mosaics.
• Experience building global terrain mosaics.
