💼 About This Role

You'll build and scale Northwood's in-house PCB assembly capability, working cross-functionally to integrate electronics manufacturing into factory operations. You'll own the full assembly process from prototype through production, developing SMT processes and leading the buildout of the PCB assembly area. This hands-on leadership role offers the chance to define assembly standards, select equipment, and build your team in a fast-paced aerospace startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop and own SMT and PCB assembly process from prototype to production
• Define process standards for assembly, inspection, rework, and quality control
• Lead design and buildout of PCB assembly area including layout and equipment
• Specify, source, and implement SMT line equipment and facility infrastructure

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
• 6+ years experience in PCB assembly, SMT process engineering, or electronics manufacturing
• Experience developing and scaling SMT or PCB assembly processes in production
• Experience with PCB assembly equipment and inspection methods

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience standing up a new PCB assembly line from scratch
• Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001
• Experience integrating manufacturing processes with MES/MRP systems like Manufacturo
