💼 About This Role

You'll work with mechanical engineers and naval architects to turn conceptual designs into production-ready drawings. You'll own the creation and maintenance of mechanical part and assembly drawings for complex systems including hull structures and propulsion components. This role supports DoD program requirements and involves collaborating with external fabricators to ensure manufacturability.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings in SolidWorks
• Create fabrication-ready technical drawings with GD&T and tolerances
• Support design of watertight enclosures and mechanical brackets
• Maintain CAD databases, drawing revisions, and part libraries

📋 Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design or related field
• 2+ years of mechanical drafting experience in production or R&D
• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar parametric CAD software
• Deep understanding of mechanical tolerances and manufacturing processes

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience designing systems for marine, aerospace, or defense
• Familiarity with MIL-SPECs or DoD engineering standards
• Hands-on experience with fabrication or field integration
