Description

As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team at AST SpaceMobile, you will lead the on-site efforts for a primary satellite subsystem on our high-volume assembly line in Midland, TX. You'll be hands-on with the full lifecycle of flight hardware and MGSE, from design and prototyping to testing and production, driving continuous improvement and solving non-conformances.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field
• Minimum 2 years in lean manufacturing, preferably aerospace or automotive
• Artificial intelligence experience required
• Proficiency with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
• Hands-on experience with workshop tools (3D printing, CNC, soldering)

Responsibilities

• Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
• Troubleshoot equipment, optimize manufacturing systems, maintain/install/upgrade machinery
• Create and update technical documentation (SOPs, CAD drawings, routings, time studies)
• Design, configure, and install hardware, software, and networking systems
• Lead projects, manage budgets, support new product launches from prototype to assembly
