You'll partner with engineering leaders to shape technical direction at Monzo, driving impact across 100+ engineers over 1-5 year horizons. You'll remain hands-on in complex systems and architecture decisions, mentoring senior engineers and leading high-impact initiatives.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Drive technical direction across collectives of 100+ engineers
• Lead and influence architectural decisions for complex systems
• Mentor and sponsor senior engineers to multiply impact
• Partner with product leaders to align engineering with company goals

📋 Requirements

• Track record leading complex, high-impact systems across multiple teams
• 8+ years building large-scale backend, distributed or data-intensive systems
• Strong technical judgment with product and business awareness
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders across engineering and product

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience defining technical strategy over multi-year horizons
• Familiarity with Go, Cassandra, Kafka, Kubernetes, AWS
• Open source contributions
