Description

You will establish and lead a cross-product research team focused on high-impact initiatives spanning networking, security, identity, automation, and AI. You'll drive strategic research from ideation to production, delivering platform capabilities used by thousands of customers globally.

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (PhD is a plus)
• 7+ years in applied research, advanced engineering, or system-level innovation
• 2+ years leading technical teams or major cross-functional initiatives
• Strong background in networking and cybersecurity with AI/ML production experience
• Hands-on programming experience (Python, Go, Java, or similar)

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the roadmap for cross-product research initiatives
• Recruit, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of researchers
• Lead complex research initiatives from ideation through validation and productionization
• Design large-scale experiments and validation methodologies using Cato's data platform
• Translate research into shipped capabilities through close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams
