💼 About This Role

You'll own performance and scalability for Deputy's Workforce Management platform, focusing on API latency, page load times, and cost efficiency. Your work will directly impact mid-market and enterprise customers operating at scale. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic initiative ownership across Scheduling, Timesheets, Leave, and Compliance.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Identify and address performance bottlenecks across backend services and APIs
• Optimize SQL queries, database access patterns, and caching strategies
• Design and implement scalable OpenSearch indexing and query pipelines
• Lead modernisation of legacy PHP systems to modern Go-based services

📋 Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience with production systems
• Proven experience leading performance optimization initiatives
• Strong expertise in SQL query optimization and indexing strategies
• Hands-on experience with OpenSearch at scale, including index design and query optimization
• Experience designing caching strategies and managing consistency trade-offs

• Experience in workforce management domains (Scheduling, Timesheets, Leave)
