Description
You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and handling food, while training and supervising kitchen assistants. You'll ensure compliance with provincial health standards and company policies to safely deliver high-quality meals. This role requires following instructions to cook well-prepared meals, multitasking in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and using various ingredients and cooking techniques.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in food service and preparation positions
- Willing to emigrate and work in Canada
- Extensive experience preparing hot and cold foods
- Good practical knowledge of accepted hygiene standards and health codes
- Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to properly handle raw foods to eliminate any risk of foodborne illness
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and disinfected properly
- Maintain inventory and record of food supplies
- Basic computer skills

Responsibilities
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas; clean kitchens and work areas
- Cook, prepare, or assemble ingredients for standard recipes including beef, pork, fish, and poultry portions
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Organize equipment purchase and repair
- Recruit and hire staff
- Prepare and cook food regularly or for special guests or events
- Estimate food needs and, if applicable, food and labor costs
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
- Train and supervise kitchen assistants
- Comply with provincial health standards and company policies
