Description

You will lead the design of Terran R mechanisms including stage separation, payload deployment, aero control features, and landing gear. You'll collaborate with structures, avionics, and fluids teams, leveraging additive manufacturing to build better products through the full design cycle from conceptualization to testing.

Requirements

• Experience in mechanisms engineering, preferably in aerospace
• Proficiency in design and analysis of flight hardware
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes
• Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams
• Strong problem-solving skills for novel challenges

Responsibilities

• Design and test Terran R stage separation or fairing deployment system
• Conceptualize Terran R landing gear or aero surfaces actuation
• Define design criteria and subsystem requirements
• Review static and dynamic load inputs, material properties, manufacturing process
• Conduct trade studies on mechanism design concepts and present to leadership
