💼 About This Role
You'll join the Scaling team to own the end-to-end bring-up of new hardware systems, turning early pre-production machines into stable, schedulable fleet capacity. You'll build provisioning automation and fleet management systems, integrating new SKUs into Kubernetes clusters. This role offers the chance to debug across layers from bootloader to control-plane connectivity.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end bring-up and bootstrap path for new systems from bare metal to schedulable fleet capacity
- Build golden image and provisioning workflows across lab and production environments
- Integrate nodes into fleet infrastructure and IaC pipelines (Terraform, Chef)
- Partner on scheduling, registration, and telemetry bring-up for new hardware
📋 Requirements
- 5+ years experience in systems software development and Linux infrastructure
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster operations and node lifecycle
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Chef/Ansible) and provisioning tools (PXE, cloud-init)
- Ability to write automation in Python, Go, or Bash
✨ Nice to Have
- Experience bringing up new hardware platforms (early silicon/servers/NICs) in a lab setting
- Multi-cloud operational experience (Azure/GCP/AWS/OCI) with compute pools
- Experience building telemetry/health pipelines
