💼 About This Role

You'll design, develop, and verify flight-control algorithms for lighter-than-air vehicles at LTA. You'll own dynamics and controls modeling for experimental vehicles and subscale flight programs, with the chance to see your work take flight. Prototype fast and test often as part of a hands-on team.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and verify flight-control algorithms and software for fly-by-wire vehicles.
• Develop linear and nonlinear vehicle dynamics and environmental models.
• Integrate models into SIL and HIL simulation environments.
• Analyze flight test data and support subscale and full-scale testing.

📋 Requirements

• BS or higher in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering with controls focus.
• 2-6 years of experience in a GNC or flight controls role.
• Expertise in MATLAB & Simulink for control system design.
• Experience implementing simulations based on rigid-body flight dynamics and physics.

✨ Nice to Have

• Proficiency in C and Python for embedded systems.
• Experience with state estimation (Kalman filtering) and MATLAB Embedded Coder.
• Familiarity with airship or buoyant body dynamics.
