💼 About This Role

You'll join a multi-discipline engineering team of around 1400 people building the operating system for energy at Octopus Energy. Your work will help decarbonize the grid by optimizing renewable generation and enabling smart meters. This role offers the chance to solve complex domain problems in the Japanese energy market.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Model complex domains in the Japanese energy market
• Design robust APIs for smart meter data ingestion
• Build scalable data pipelines for machine learning
• Collaborate via pair programming and code reviews

📋 Requirements

• Python and Django (or equivalent web framework) expertise
• Experience with HTTP/REST APIs and domain modeling
• Proficiency in Celery and async processing
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL

✨ Nice to Have

• AWS infrastructure experience
• Familiarity with Terraform, Packer, or Consul
• Japanese language ability
