You'll join Shepherd, an AI-native commercial insurance platform, building the core backend systems that power automated underwriting. You'll lead major initiatives like data collection and policy administration, owning large areas of the product experience and driving technical decisions. This role offers the chance to shape the team culture and mentor engineers as we scale.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead major initiatives and own large areas of product experience
• Work across the full stack and cross-functional teams
• Balance innovation with pragmatic delivery, shipping quality products
• Contribute to product strategy and architectural decisions

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (backend and/or frontend)
• Track record of delivering high-impact products
• End-to-end ownership of features from conception to release

• Experience with insurance (InsurTech or actuarial role)
• Experience as a full-stack engineer
• Mentoring other engineers
