Description

You will lead material development from concept through commercialization for footwear categories, sourcing and evaluating new materials and technologies while ensuring design intent, performance, sustainability, cost, and manufacturability. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable, compliant materials for seasonal launches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Footwear Engineering, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of raw material development experience in footwear or adjacent categories
• Proven experience developing materials for uppers and/or bottoms with bonding systems knowledge
• Working knowledge of footwear testing and common failure modes
• Proficiency in PLM and Excel; strong technical judgment and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead material development from concept through commercialization for footwear categories
• Source and evaluate new materials and technologies (knits, wovens, leather alternatives, foams, compounds)
• Define material specifications and test plans to validate performance and durability
• Own material cost targets and negotiate with suppliers
• Develop strategic supplier relationships and maintain qualified vendor matrix
