Description

You will own the strategy, development, and improvement of AccuWeather's digital forecasting platforms, focusing on the Unified Forecast Database and related products. You'll lead prioritization and delivery of system enhancements to improve forecast accuracy, operational efficiency, and innovation. This role involves coordinating between forecasting leadership, engineering, design, and external partners to identify quality issues and deliver solutions from concept through launch.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years' experience in product management
• B.S. in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences preferred
• Experience working with web and app platforms and frameworks
• Demonstrated knowledge of digitally distributed products and technology
• Experience writing detailed requirements for products
• Ability to interact and communicate with product, design, and development teams
• Meticulous attention to detail with strategic orientation
• Comfortable prioritizing pipelines of work based on strategic evaluation
• Proven leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Lead work on Digital Forecasting Database (UFDB) to ensure accurate and actionable forecasts
• Prioritize and deliver enhancements to UFDB system for improved accuracy and efficiency
• Identify concerns and enhancements to forecast systems and displays
• Develop and monitor processes to identify and correct weather data quality concerns
• Ensure AccuWeather Philosophy is kept up to date and provide training
• Oversee creation and maintenance of products and forecasting systems
• Work with Forecasting leadership to ensure effective department operations
• Establish and execute processes for new products and changes
• Engage early in development process and provide feedback
• Work with third parties and cross-functional teams
• Manage development sprints and prioritize product enhancements
• Lead scrum team of engineers and product designers
• Produce and review product requirement documents
• Own end-to-end success of projects
• Work with subject matter experts
• Develop strategy and make creative recommendations for product vision
