Description
You will provide patient care support including services related to hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by the Charge Nurse. You'll document appropriately in patient records, ensure proper application of medical devices, and maintain supplies and equipment on the unit. This role involves working across all Bethesda communities with a focus on long-term care and rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Certified Nurse Assistant Certification in Missouri and Illinois
- Two years experience required
- Long-term care and rehab experience required
- Must be willing to commute and work at all Bethesda communities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to lift heavy objects using proper techniques
- Ability to transfer and move patients weighing 200+lbs
- Ability to push and pull equipment weighing 40+lbs
- Manual dexterity, coordination, and skillful use of hands
- Ability to physically perform necessary documentation
- Visual acuity with ability to distinguish color
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety
- Document appropriately into patient record charting
- Complete admission procedures including personal belonging sheets, height, weight, and vital signs
- Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs
- Complete rounds as assigned
- Turn and reposition residents every 2 hours; reposition seated residents every hour
- Take vital signs and weights accurately and report to Charge Nurse
- Ensure proper slings, splints, braces, position devices, etc. are applied according to orders
- Measure intake and output accurately and relay information at shift change
- Perform procedures and treatments as instructed (e.g., Sitz bath, moist packs, isolation techniques)
- Maintain appropriate supplies and equipment on the unit
- Ensure charge items are entered according to procedure
- Complete job duties by attending continuing education classes and in-services
- Interact and maintain effective working relationships with team members
- Maintain discretion in handling confidential information
- Give report to Charge Nurse at end of shift and complete walking rounds
- May be assigned other duties as appropriate
