💼 About This Role

You'll join SumUp's Payments Tribe to co-create and scale Golang-based microservices for the Online Payments platform. Your impact will be felt globally as you design high-performance backend services processing billions of transactions across 36+ countries. This role stands out for its autonomy and ownership within cross-functional squads.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Co-design and develop high-performance backend services in Golang
• Participate in API design for internal and external integrations
• Ensure high code quality, test coverage, and documentation
• Optimize application performance and scalability

📋 Requirements

• Solid experience as a Backend Engineer in Go, Java, Python, etc.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/RDBMS and distributed systems
• Passion for clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Good understanding of software architecture and design

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems
• DevOps practices (CI/CD)
