Description

In this role, you will develop scalable backend systems and orchestration pipelines to produce high-definition maps for the Aurora Driver, enabling reliable expansion of its operational domain. You'll work at the intersection of large-scale backend systems and workflow management, building robust pipelines to process substantial data volumes from mapping algorithms.

Requirements

• BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
• 5+ years industry experience building software in production environment
• Proficiency with backend systems (gRPC, SQL databases, MapReduce architecture) using Python or C++
• Experience with software design in complex systems with many dependencies
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional team environment

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems for map building pipeline state tracking and orchestration
• Develop, scale, and maintain services and infrastructure powering map building pipelines
• Collaborate with map generation algorithms, localization, and operational teams on interfaces and escalation mechanisms
• Develop software in Python and C++ using modern best practices
• Troubleshoot complex issues within large-scale data pipelines and orchestration systems
