Description

As a Design Criteria Engineer on the Starship program, you will be embedded in cross-disciplinary teams to ensure hardware and operations meet mission requirements. You'll drive improvements to vehicle design, provide critical design review, and develop tools for accurate design criteria, working across avionics, propulsion, structures, and more.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
• 1+ years experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, or analysis (internship qualifies)
• Experience with aerospace structure systems design, analysis, testing, fabrication
• Experience with fatigue, vibration, and thermal testing of mechanical assemblies
• Experience with solid modeling (Siemens NX) and FEA software (FEMAP)

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements to vehicle design by integrating with hardware teams
• Provide critical peer review and approval of hardware designs during design reviews
• Drive development of tools and methods for accurate design criteria
• Ensure cohesive evolution of designs across technical teams (avionics, propulsion, structures, etc.)
• Perform rapid conceptual design, analysis, and testing cycles on development hardware
