💼 About This Role

You'll build and operate the cloud services powering Life360's connected devices, working at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and mobile. You'll use AI-native workflows to design, build, and maintain backend systems that serve millions of families daily. This role helps define what AI-native engineering looks like for complex, hardware-connected systems.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services for device connectivity and telemetry.
• Use AI agentic workflows to generate code, tests, and perform incident triage.
• Collaborate with firmware, mobile, and product teams to define APIs.
• Build data pipelines for high-throughput telemetry streams using Kafka.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years experience building backend services in Java, Go, Python, or similar.
• Hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs as a development partner.
• Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and MCP/function calling.
• Strong experience with microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and distributed systems.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with IoT, telematics, or embedded/hardware-adjacent systems.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Kinesis, or high-throughput streaming platforms.
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog).
