💼 About This Role

You'll lead the design and development of Marqeta's Identity Platform within the Risk, Fraud and Disputes pod. You'll own the end-to-end identity verification lifecycle, driving AI-first automation and ensuring AML/BSA compliance. This role offers the chance to engage directly with enterprise customers and regulators.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end identity verification lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Build and operate KYC/KYB systems for CIP verification and CDD.
• Drive AI-first automation to reduce manual review rates.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team.
• Act as technical leader in customer and regulatory escalations.

📋 Requirements

• 8–10+ years in engineering
• 3+ years managing senior and staff engineers
• Deep backend expertise in Java/Spring Boot and Python/Airflow
• Experience with operational excellence and incident management

• Understanding of identity verification and AML/BSA compliance
• Experience with vendors like Trulioo, LexisNexis, or Socure
• Background in fintech issuing platforms or payments
