Description

You will support the Data Operations team in maintaining, improving, and optimizing data workflows and automation processes. This role contributes to ensuring data timeliness, availability, system reliability, and continuous process enhancement across AccuWeather's data platforms. You'll gain hands-on experience in data operations, scripting, monitoring, and process automation within a professional IT environment.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Basic understanding of data processing or database management concepts (SQL familiarity preferred)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Excellent attention to detail and eagerness to learn new technologies
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining basic automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to support data collection and system monitoring
• Support the maintenance and documentation of data pipelines, ensuring smooth and reliable operation
• Collaborate with the Data Operations team to design, build, and refine monitoring tools that track system performance and help proactively identify issues under supervision
• Help test and deploy small-scale automation or monitoring tools
• Write and maintain unit tests for new and existing automation and data processes to ensure reliability and performance
• Contribute to internal documentation and process improvement efforts
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and project updates to gain exposure to industry best practices
