Description

As a Senior Staff ML Engineer at Affirm, you will define and drive multi-year technical strategy for machine learning, designing and scaling advanced ML systems that power critical decisions. You'll partner with ML Platform, product, engineering, and risk leaders to shape long-term capabilities and influence infrastructure evolution, while mentoring senior engineers and driving operational excellence.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in large-scale, real-time ML systems
• Experience leading end-to-end ML system design from data to deployment
• Proficient in Python, PyTorch, XGBoost, and distributed frameworks like Spark or Ray
• Deep expertise in neural network-based sequence modeling (Transformers, attention-based models)
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities
