Description

You will be the first point of contact with defaulted borrowers, recovering loans through effective resolutions and delivering a superior servicing experience. Your goal is to balance recovery with customer satisfaction using empathy and negotiation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field
• 3+ years customer-centric experience in financial product servicing and repayment
• Knowledge of international debt recovery laws for US and Canada
• Prior collections experience in financial services/B2C or higher education preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills

Responsibilities

• Initiate outbound calls and emails to defaulted borrowers for timely collections
• Apply problem-solving and negotiation to resolve account issues
• Evaluate account history and determine best recovery steps (payment plan, settlement, etc.)
• Prepare files for legal action or third-party collection
• Conduct skip tracing and reference calls to establish contact
