💼 About This Role

You'll provide technical leadership across backend services supporting Verifone's global payment gateway. You'll design core platform capabilities, guide architectural decisions across microservices, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on with systems built using Java and Spring Boot. This role drives the technical direction of systems processing high-volume financial transactions worldwide.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and evolve core platform capabilities for payment gateway
• Guide architectural decisions across microservices and REST APIs
• Mentor engineers while remaining hands-on with critical systems
• Drive engineering standards and best practices for scalability and security

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Deep experience designing and operating microservice architectures
• Production experience with MongoDB including modeling and optimization
• Experience with AWS services like EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB

✨ Nice to Have

• Background in fintech or payments domain
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging (Kafka, AWS SQS)
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and raise technical bar
