Description

You will design, build, and maintain specialized indexing features for CockroachDB, including vector, full-text, and geospatial indexes. You'll improve performance and reliability, integrate new indexing mechanisms into the query engine, and develop hybrid search capabilities for modern AI workloads.

Requirements

• Passion for databases, indexing systems, and distributed architectures
• Strong background in systems programming with Go, C/C++, or Rust
• Experience with indexing or query execution systems (vector, text, spatial)
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
• Typically 10+ years building large-scale production-grade systems

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain specialized indexing features for CockroachDB
• Improve performance and reliability of existing vector indexing systems
• Integrate new indexing mechanisms into the query engine
• Develop hybrid search capabilities combining vector and text search
• Take full ownership from design through implementation and release
