You'll design and operate high-performance APIs that expose Perplexity's intelligence to developers worldwide. You'll lead major technical initiatives from new platform components to multi-team system redesigns. This role sits at the core of how people search, reason, and interact with information.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design, build, and operate mission-critical APIs in Python, Go, or Rust
• Lead technical initiatives: new platform components to system redesigns
• Improve reliability with rate limiting, authentication, and observability
• Collaborate across teams to determine build vs extend decisions

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years backend engineering with Python, Go, or Rust
• Strong understanding of high-traffic API design (versioning, idempotency, auth)
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps
• Experience with LLM or natural-language APIs (latency, streaming) strongly preferred
