💼 About This Role

You'll own the development of in-space propulsion systems, including thrusters, valves, and propellant systems for a company building space infrastructure. You'll perform structural, thermal, and fluids analyses to define system requirements and manage projects from concept through flight. This role supports U.S. Government customers, including national security missions.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Own development of hardware for fluid system applications including valves, tubing, brackets, manifolds, and thrusters.
  • Perform structural, thermal, and fluids analyses to define and verify component and system requirements.
  • Generate system diagrams, CAD, component drawings, and detailed requirements.
  • Manage project schedules, risk, and budget.

📋 Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Direct experience with in-space chemical propulsion systems and demonstrated past ownership of complex fluid or mechanical projects.
  • Ability to understand structural, fluid, and thermal designs from first principles.
  • Familiarity with CAD and FEA packages such as NX and NASTRAN or similar.

✨ Nice to Have

  • Experience designing test or flight fluid systems for high pressure gases or liquids.
  • Strong understanding and application of drafting standards and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Proficiency in Python.

🚩 Heads Up

  • Role mixes hands-on hardware ownership with project management responsibilities, potentially overloading a single position.
