💼 About This Role

You'll lead the Planner Reasoning Team at Waymo, building technology that directly shapes the Waymo Driver's behavior. You'll scale performance and improve safety as Waymo expands to new cities and geos. This role offers a chance to impact onboard and off-board system architecture with deep-learning explorations.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and implement horizontal solutions for behavioral driving issues in new geos
• Build quantitative evaluation techniques for data-driven development
• Collaborate with Mapping, Product, and Onboard stack partners
• Lead API design with focus on evaluation and data-driven techniques

📋 Requirements

• PhD, Masters, or Bachelors in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related field
• Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets
• Solving design problems that cut across multiple components
• High-quality API design with evaluation and data-driven approach

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience in autonomous driving domain (motion planning or perception)
• Proficiency in SQL and C++
• Evaluation experience contributing to scalable eval workflows and ML metrics
