💼 About This Role

You'll support the rapid development of optical packaging solutions for photonic integrated circuits at a leading quantum computing company. Working with senior engineers, you'll help enable the assembly and testing of cutting-edge quantum systems. This role is based at the UK R&D facility at Daresbury Laboratory.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Support design and rapid prototyping of optical packaging for PICs.
• Develop fibre-to-chip alignment and attachment processes.
• Assist in designing scalable packaging architectures.
• Analyse experimental results to improve packaging performance.

📋 Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with optical assembly or fibre alignment.
• Familiarity with photonic integrated circuits and optical packaging.
• Experience in a laboratory environment supporting experimental hardware.

• Experience with fibre arrays or precision alignment systems.
• Knowledge of DFM principles for optical packaging.
• Familiarity with optical measurement techniques.
