Description
You will develop and implement mechanical designs for electronics that power the Neutron launch vehicle, working hands-on with flight hardware from prototype to production. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will optimize designs for cost, mass, and production rate while supporting testing and integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience in mechanical and structural design, electronics packaging, and environmental survivability
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple sites
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% to vendors and test sites in the US and New Zealand
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical components and electro-mechanical systems from design through test and integration
- Execute multiple design iterations efficiently, clearing short-term issues and long-term roadblocks
- Own hardware delivery timeline from inception to assembly and test
- Support and execute hardware testing including system-level performance validation and qualification
- Analyze electro-mechanical and structural assemblies via classical and computer methods
