Description

You will develop and implement mechanical designs for electronics that power the Neutron launch vehicle, working hands-on with flight hardware from prototype to production. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will optimize designs for cost, mass, and production rate while supporting testing and integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience in mechanical and structural design, electronics packaging, and environmental survivability
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple sites
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% to vendors and test sites in the US and New Zealand

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical components and electro-mechanical systems from design through test and integration
  • Execute multiple design iterations efficiently, clearing short-term issues and long-term roadblocks
  • Own hardware delivery timeline from inception to assembly and test
  • Support and execute hardware testing including system-level performance validation and qualification
  • Analyze electro-mechanical and structural assemblies via classical and computer methods
